Bistrot des Moines

Charming bistrot in Burgundy
between Beaune and Dijon

An old-style
bistrot

The Bistrot des Moines

In the very heart of Burgundy, discover the Bistrot des Moines at the Abbaye de la Bussière: a place full of charm, an ode to the terroir of Burgundy and to grandma’s cooking.

Find yourselves in either of the two lovely rooms, one giving onto the park and the lake and the other in the former kitchen of the monks of the Cistercian abbey of La Bussière, for a convivial moment around a very appetising table.

A collection of beautiful copper pans adorns the walls, hand-painted plates and wine bottles alternate on the shelves of the dresser and on a table a bouquet of dried ears of corn recalls the nutritional value of wheat…

A historic décor unique in its genre, as atypical as it is warm and welcoming for a tasty meal. The Bistrot des Moines at La Bussière-sur-Ouche cultivates the legendary art of conviviality and sharing based on generous cuisine amongst friends, in couples or as a family.

The cuisine

Our Chef  is inspired by the culinary repertoire of our grandmothers to prepare dishes celebrating the authenticity and simplicity of family moments.

Each day, he brings back from market produce cultivated by local, regional producers he has always known.

In his basket, organic hens’ eggs, belly pork, seasonal fruits and vegetables, some Franche-Comté cheeses, freshly-caught fish…

Chef gets to work with his team in his kitchen, conjuring up for you fricassées and sautés, dishes that will simmer for long hours in pots and pans… and not forgetting his fresh fruit tarts.

The terrace

From the first sunny days, benefit from the early sunshine on the terrace of the Bistrot des Moines.

Around you, beautiful lawns with grass that is still fresh, flowers in their garden boxes, impeccably pruned bushes of boxwood; a little farther off, the park and its centuries-old trees invite you to stroll.

Let time go by, listen to nature around you, savour this bucolic luncheon experience.
