Luxury hotel and gastronomic restaurant
in Burgundy, Côte d’Or

In the heart
of Burgundy

The Abbaye de la Bussière luxury hotel nestles in the heart of Burgundy between Dijon and Beaune. Lush green landscapes, a place full of history and culture, vineyards known for their excellence throughout the world. If travelling from Britain or northern Europe towards the south of France or coming back from skiing, treat yourself to an exceptional stop-over in this superb Relais & Châteaux hotel.

Over a long weekend, take to the roads of the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and their famous wines, visit wine domains in the surrounding area, such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and stay at the Abbaye de la Bussière.

The avenue that leads to the medieval abbey meanders between centuries-old trees and carpets of lush green lawns.

Here you are on the thresh-hold of an exceptional site steeped in history, shaped by the men who built it and those who lived here for centuries. The majesty of its buildings, the pure and simple beauty of its stonework in the heart of a park of 7 hectares (17 acres)…

A feeling of peacefulness and deep serenity will delicately envelop you, as if the Cistercian monks had left a little of their spirituality beyond the ages.

A family

Mine hosts Clive and Tanith Cummings have been the heartbeat of the Abbaye de la Bussière since 2005.

Deeply attached to the place and in love with its stonework so alive, they welcome and invite you to share their passion.

Your stay in this extraordinary luxury hotel is unforgettable.

how to live

The Abbaye de la Bussière accommodates two restaurants within its walls: Le 1131, a Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant nestled beneath majestic arches in an unparalleled setting in which to experience haute cuisine and the Bistrot des Moines installed in the former monastic kitchen, hearty, gourmand and convivial. At work, our Chef Guillaume Royer, Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2015, both fervent defender of Burgundian terroir and of local produce, fresh, seasonal and of extremely high quality.

The Abbaye de la Bussière is also the ideal setting for your professional events (seminars, training sessions, board meetings, workshops etc.) and your private receptions (weddings with the ceremony possible in the consecrated crypt, birthdays, celebrations), offering prestige, verdant surroundings and very high level of service.
