To help you get through the grizzly month of November, we have organised some gastronomic treats for you with chef de cuisine Guillaume.

On Friday 11th, a superb 6 course dinner with guests of honour, wine producers Douhairet Porcheret from Monthélie. They'll accompany you for the evening and each course will be paired with a wine from their domain.  Should be fun! 

To share his passion of hunting and fishing, Guillaume has organised a special game, mushroom and fish brunch bonanza on Sunday 13th from midday onwards.

To mark the last brunch of the season, we invite you to a veritable gastronomic gala on Sunday 27th from midday onwards and some jazz to gets things swinging!

 Grand de demain Gault & Millau

On Monday evening at the official launch in Paris of the 2017 Gault et Millau guide, Guillaume was presented with the prestigious award "Grand de demain", (great chef of tomorrow).  He was only one of 6 chefs in France to receive this accolade and the only one in Burgundy.  This distinction follows hot on the heels of another award for Guillaume who, at only 35 years old, became Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2015.  Watch this space...

On the 3rd November at Dijon's Gastronomic Fair, Jean-Baptiste Chollet, a chef at the Abbaye, won the prestigious Bernard Lavau trophy for the "Concours des Jeunes Espoirs", (young hopefuls competition).  50 participants were initially selected and then 5 finalists. Jean-Baptiste was elected the winner by the "Amicale des Cuisiniers de la Côte d'Or" jury.

The challenge lasted for 3 hours 40 minutes, in which time he prepared oysters, (raw, marinated, tempura), free range guinea fowl with stuffed, braised cabbage, celery and squash spaghetti.

    "Grande Table de l'Année" award

On Monday 7th November, at the gala dinner of the Gastronomy Trophies organised by Le Bien Public, Guillaume received the trophy for "Grande Table de l'Année", (Grand Table of the Year), 2016. 

He was proud and delighted to be presented the trophy by one of his "fathers" Jacques Lameloise.

Bistrot des Moines

The Bistrot des Moines welcomes you in the former refectory of the Abbaye.

In an atmosphere blending relaxation and the originality of the place, taste wholesome food, revisiting the classics of Burgundian cuisine. Here, monastic spirituality has given way to the pleasures of the palate and conviviality, even if the decor subtly recalls the original purpose of this place steeped in history.
